Beyond the mount
Mounting is where most jobs start. When you want the whole wall to look built-in rather than bolted-on, this is what we do.

Nothing on this wall but a thermostat and two outlets. We framed out a shallow bulkhead, ran power and HDMI up behind the screen, and built the credenza to float clear of the baseboard so the floor still reads continuous.
The old plug-in fireplace sat proud of the wall and blocked the walkway. We recessed a 60-inch linear insert into a new framed wall, clad it in shiplap, and set a solid oak mantel at soundbar height.
A bedroom TV screwed flat to drywall with the cable showing. The new slat panel runs floor to ceiling with LED behind the top and bottom edges, and the fireplace tucks under a stained mantel.
